GlassLab is an open, collaborative community of innovative educators, game designers, learning and assessment experts, passionate about enhancing learning outcomes in and out of the classroom.

Our “Meet the Team” mini-series gives you a chance to get to know the team a bit better! This week, we have a chat with Lori Stone, our new Development Manager in Redwood Shores, CA!

Hello Lori! How has your first week been?

My first week has been great – I feel like I’ve hit the ground running! I’m looking forward to meeting with everyone individually or in a group. This is such a great group of people to be around, I can feel the energy and creativity in every conversation. I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of this team!

We’re super thrilled to have you! How would you describe your role?

I leverage the experience and skills of GlassLab staff and board members to create and implement a full development strategy that includes fundraising, partnership development, events, and relationship building.

What brings you to GlassLab?

I’ve been working for nonprofits for over 15 years. Most recently, I’ve worked and volunteered with organizations in the tech for good world. I believe technology can change the world – whether in education, disaster relief, human rights, or the environment. We’re living in a time and place where innovation is at our fingertips and I feel a great sense of responsibility to move the dial, to encourage a conversation and movement around creating technology for social good. As a mother of a 13 year old, I see every day how technology influences and impacts my son’s decisions and social interactions. He considers himself a gamer and actually built his own gaming computer over the summer. I cannot ignore this. I see the benefits of creating high-impact digital learning tools that engage young people in learning and the world around them.

What are you most excited about?

GlassLab is exactly where my professional and personal passions intersect. I am excited to see so much innovation and how this will bring GlassLab to the next level. The potential for growth and impact is vast and I am excited to be a part of making this happen.
