The organization’s first holiday giving campaign brings high impact learning games to the children

REDWOOD CITY, CALIF [November 13, 2014] – GlassLab, the nonprofit learning company, today launched #Giftfully, a first-of-its-kind holiday giving campaign through which donors can help children access high impact learning games for free.

Every $5 donated will give a child year-long access to commercial-quality, high-impact digital game from the GlassLab Games library such as SimCityEDU, Mars Generation One: Argubot Academy, Argument Wars by iCivics and many more. To date, more than 10,000 students have signed on to play GlassLab Games, resulting in over 5 million unique learning events. A $100 gift would give 20 students access to the games library, and a $250 gift would give 50 kids access.

GlassLab Games is an online platform designed to be the ultimate destination for educators to discover high-quality digital learning games that are proven effective for learning. The platform covers a wide variety of subject areas and offers rich contexts for learning, formative assessment, and tools for teaching.

“We are so grateful to each and every parent, caregiver and educator who has made an impact in and out of the classroom. This past year was evidence to what a collaborative and engaged community can accomplish and we can’t wait to continue to enhance learning outcomes for students with the community’s support, in the coming years,” Said Jessica Lindl, GlassLab’s Executive Director.

The skills required for 21st century success depend on practical application of what is learned in the classroom to real-world contexts. The games, learning and assessments that are part of GlassLab Games enable the development of these critical skills – empowering youth for success in a complex world.
